Less than halfway through his disastrous term in office, Donald Trump’s lawyers have made the claim that the POTUS is above the law. People beg to differ.
It is worth repeating (as is absolutely necessary under the Trump administration) that this is not what a normal president does. What is absolutely revolting is that Trump voters believe the nonsense peddled by Trump. Anyone spouting the nonsense Trump spreads should have an approval rating in the single digits. As of this post, 40% of American voters approve of Trump. Should this be discouraging? Perhaps, but because “it’s the economy, stupid” the more likely explanation is that the US is experiencing the growth and employment rates set in motion before Trump was elected.
While it may be hopeful to wait–deus ex machina–for the Mueller investigation to result in the impeachment of Trump, the more realistic outcome is that Trump may get primaried. We can only hope so.
