When Trump visited China last year, there was a point where the Chinese officials prevented a member of Trump’s entourage from following him. This particular person was very important as they were carrying the nuclear football. White House Chief of Staff, John Kelly, had no better idea than to get into a physical altercation with the Chinese guards.
John Kelly, the man that is supposed to be the grown-up in the room, thought it would be a good idea for American Secret Service agents to wrestle a Chinese guard to the ground. Inside the Great Hall of the People. On Chinese soil. With the machine that could start nuclear Armageddon just feet away.
Now comes news that John Kelly, after much reflection, one would think, was intent on receiving an apology only “under US flag.” If one were giving Kelly the benefit of the doubt, one would think that when things got intense, his immediate concern was for the safety of the chain of command. However, his petulant demand and doubling down that the apology (which was made immediately following the incident) be made “under US flag” reveals that Kelly is an imbecile. Yes, an idiot. Even if he called Trump an idiot, this does not mean that Kelly is not an idiot too. Witness his calling Elizabeth Warren “an impolite, arrogant woman.”
One can only hope that in a not too distant future Kelly, along with Huckabee-Sanders will not be fêted by popular culture as lovable buffoons, but rather as calculating sycophants who knew all along that what they enabled was un-American.
A current meme on President Dwight D. Eisenhower quotes him as having said: “If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.”
Huckabee-Sanders lies and she’s the press secretary. John Kelly is a coward and he is White House Chief of Staff. McConnell steals a Supreme Court Justice seat and gives it to Kavanaugh, a proven perjurer. The Trump Administration detains refugee children and treats them as sub-human.
There is nothing moral about the Trump presidency. There is nothing recommending the Republican party as supporting what is right. Trumpism and the Republican party are nothing but a conspiracy to seize power.
