Trump thinks he’s got Joe Biden over a barrel. Trump thinks that he can play hardball and still get his own way. Trump has had over one week to say what he wants to do and his silence speaks volumes. His lackey, Rudy Giuliani has made it clear that there will be no handover of power. Well, as crisis negotiators like to say, there is an easy way and there is a hard way.

The hard way is that Trump attempts a coup. He tries to have states de-certify the results of the election and he has faithless electors vote for him instead of Joe Biden. The hard way involves Trump facing charges of treason against the elected government of the United States of America. Let’s forget all the QAnon nonsense. Plotting against Biden is treason. Treason is punishable by death, according to the US Constitution.
It’s time for Trump to put aside his tough-guy bravado or shut up. Is he really willing to face charges of treason for his refusal to accept defeat? If he’s going to attempt a coup, it is time for him to come out and say it.
The easy way is for Trump to acknowledge defeat and go to Mar-a-Lago and sulk until January 20th. After that, it will be up to the courts to decide whether he will continue to be a free man.
