Where is the Democratic outrage?

Helsinki was Trump’s Waterloo.  It should be evident to any sentient being that Trump capitulated American values at the feet of the Russian tyrant, Vladimir Putin.

But where is the response from the Democratic party?  Is it possible that Barack Obama was really that extraordinary that no one else can rise up to the challenge presented by Trump?  Where is Tim Caine?  How soon has he forgotten that he was on the winning ticket of the 2016 elections?  His side won more votes than the disaster of Trump/Pence, so where is Tim Caine today?  As far as depending on Joe Biden, forget it.  Biden should give a press conference and declare that he is too old (he would be 81 by the end of his second term) to run for president.  Only then will his criticisms of Trump count.

It’s understandable that Hillary Clinton has stayed silent for the past two years, but why has  there been no real outrage from the Democratic party?  The party cannot be placing all of its bets on the result of the Mueller investigation, because it simply cannot.  If the Mueller investigation results in impeachable offenses, the Republican-run Congress will stifle any attempts at bringing articles of impeachment.  If the Mueller investigation turns up nothing, then the Democrats will have held their collective breath for nothing.

So the question comes back to why is there no vociferous outrage on the part of the Democrats?  The following are some of the things that are fair game and the Democrats have failed to capitalize on:

The remains of US servicemen in Korea.  The Trump administration has lied about the return of the remains of US servicemen.  Why hasn’t the Democratic party interviewed one of the thousands of families with missing soldiers?  Would it be unfair to point out that Trump has done nothing to ensure the return of the remains of US soldiers?  Why would it be unfair?  Why would it be distasteful for the Democratic party to point out that Trump has achieved nothing on this front?  It is Trump who brags about having accomplished what no earlier administrations have accomplished, so it is more than fair game for the Democratic party to highlight that Trump has accomplished virtually nothing in dealing with North Korea–other than stopping war games in exchange for nothing.  In contrast, the Clinton administration achieved far more with the remains of US servicemen killed in Vietnam.

The fact that Russia has American blood on its hands.  American servicemen have died in the Syrian civil warRussia is a leading sponsor of Syria’s dictator, so American lives lost in the conflict are on the hands of Putin.  When Trump says that Putin is a strong leader, he is praising a man with the blood of American servicemen on his hands.  Why haven’t Democrats pounced on this?  Republican’s used Bergdahl as an albatross around President Obama’s presidency.  It’s time to pay back and stop bringing knives to gunfights.  The Democratic party must run ads pointing out that Trump has shaken hands with Putin and that Putin has the blood of American servicemen on his hands.  This has to happen now.

Trump’s use of Chinese workers for his 2020 campaign tchotchkes.  Trump has already started his 2020 re-election campaign with the help of Chinese flag makers.  What can be more un-MAGA than manufacturing campaign flags in China?  It is not like this can be explained away as the mistake of a rookie campaign.  If the Trump team is all about ability and competence, then it should be shouted from the rooftops that Trump chose to make his campaign flags in China.  That these Chinese imports will be affected by Trump’s tariffs is just icing on the cake.

But again, where are the national Democratic National Committee efforts in pointing out these things?  Trump maintains his aura of invincibility on the basis of his supposed virility and strength.  Trump must be shown to be impotent and weak.  That’s the way in which to get out the Democratic vote and suppress the Republican vote.
